Like all the other bedrooms in the Tower, the 'spare' bedroom can only be reached by passing through another room — in this case the music room. It is a large north-facing room that sees little direct sunlight save for a few oblique rays of sun through the end windows, and at times when there is music going on next door it can also be hard to hear oneself think. Depending upon the skill of the performer and the tastes of the involuntary audience, this may or may not be a good thing...

As a result this bedroom sees relatively little use compared to the Blue Room on the floor above, although it is comfortably furnished and generous in size. There is a squarish double bed on a brass bedstead of the kind that proverbially comes 'with knobs on'; and indeed the knobs are very much in evidence, strategically positioned around hip-height to inflict bruises on painful parts of the anatomy of those who brush past carelessly. The bedspread is a cheerful sprigged cream pattern that matches the lace runners on the dressing-table.
