Oddly enough, the Daily Mail article (17/6/1995) on Evelyn Laye, "The amazing story behind why to make this woman a Dame" [sic], was illustrated with a previously-unseen shot of Sonnie, Catherine and Jessie on the beach, captioned "Happy Family".

This must be what Michael Thornton had in mind when he mentions them playing on the sands during the pre-London run of "I Can Take It" in the summer of 1939, although he makes no mention of an actual photograph.
